This is me at the start of my weight loss journey in 2011.

After eating unhealthy my whole life, I finally got tired of feeling like crap and constantly hurting inside and out all the time. I remembered I had heard about this eating every 3 hours thing and said to myself, "ya, I can do that."  I figured out how many calories I needed to eat each day according to my height. 1600 calories a day was the number for my body to lose 2 pounds a week, and that is what I did.  I ate every 3 hours like clockwork. It was honestly HARD at first, but when I started to lose 2 to 4 pounds a week it made it worth it.  In a few weeks my eating habits became my new normal. I quickly found that someone who loved to eat as much as I did 1600 calories did not go very far if I wasn't EATING CLEAN. I never went over and I surely never came in under my 1600 calories a day.


Eating Clean Allows You to Eat More

If you eat clean, you can pretty much eat all day GUILT FREE!  I ate, and still eat anything I want, but in a controlled fashion. It forces me to make a conscious decision to eat it or not.  Exercise plays a very important part in this.  To be honest 80%  of your success is going to come from your food.


Burning Fat and Building Muscle

Here is the deal,  you need to MOVE!  When you exercise, you begin to build lean muscle that burns fat.  The more muscle you have, the more calories you will burn while working out or at rest.  If you eat what you need, your body will grab onto fat to fuel your movements.  It is really simple when you think about it.

Consume fewer calories than you burn to lose weight. Consume more calories than you burn to gain weight. An equal balance of calories in and calories out and you maintain your weight.

I lost 86 pounds in 11 months!  YAY! I did it FINALLY!! Looking back now, it really was not that bad.  Think about it.  I ate all day long.  I actually ATE MYSELF THIN! That is something I still do today.

Making the Decision to Make a Change

It took me 15 years to get to the point where I said ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!  I changed my lifestyle for the better.  I can guarantee you that you will find a new confidence in yourself and even be proud.  You will be amazed at the fun and active things you can do in and out of the gym when the weight is gone.  Why would you not do this?  I do not have a super cool story about how I lost my weight.  I was not on TV and did not have the chance to win a bunch of money to help my motivation, I just DID IT FOR ME...Plain and simple. There is NO magic pill or super shake. DIETS DO NOT WORK!  A LIFESTYLE CHANGE DOES WORK!! I AM LIVING PROOF OF THAT.
